April 2026 Issue 230

Sherwood Forest Faire and the Usual Suspects!
Even in the April Showers... ha. that never stopped anyone!
Especially enjoyable was the brilliant
Little Kid Hideout
at The Gnome and Fairy Pottery Shoppe!
This is what happens when Artists raise Children! LOL

The Rooting!

Rooting Fig branches was so easy
(using a one gallon milk container and rainwater)
the Dollmaker is considering growing a Fig Forest!

Here's a good one for all the Gardeners:

LOL right. ...exactly...

like THESE! ...the Mystery Seedlings!
they really could be Anything! LOL

Nevertheless,
through all the Uncertainty
the Dollmaker muddled through and
managed to take a carload of successfully rooted cuttings
to the Bastrop Plant and Book Sale...
Proceeds going to a good cause...

ah . So...
April is not a particularly dollmaking month for the Dollmaker.
ah but she revels in allowing herself Time..
Time to do "Other" things
things she might never have done before...
such as...
attending
her first Pro Baseball Game Ever!!!
Speaking of "Rooting"...

Well, despite not being a life-long sports fan
(like her friend Judy)
she was pretty sure that she could guess, right off:
that a Real Baseball Game is
like a Renaissance Festival: the crowds are large
and a good percentage of the FANS like to
Dress Up...
Only the Garb is different....

The Complete Baseball Experience:
Therefore: Girlfriend Judy (an avid Astros Fan!)
brought some of her shirts for the Dollmaker to try on...
After choosing just the right "costume"
the Dollmaker eagerly embraced the option to Accessorize!
The Astros- being from Houston (aka: SPACE CITY)
made STARS the easy choice!

additionally, a First Time Ever Sign was drawn up
(She learned that one may capture the attention of hidden cameras!)
But possibly most important of all...
The Dollmaker did have solid prior knowledge on this point...
..that the Full Baseball Experience absolutely REQUIRED eating
the Right Kind of Baseball Food!

The Hot Dog, The Beer
and everyone knows... The Cracker Jacks
were Mandatory.
One would have thought that was all you needed...
oh but no! There was a LOT more Food to be had inside that Stadium!
Even the Nachos were Gourmet!
It really would have been tempting to sit there and EAT for two hours!
but Watching Baseball Live is an Active Sport!
All that Head Swiveling to check the Big Scoreboard after every pitch...

Overall, the Dollmaker just "had a ball"!
She especially liked it when somebody (anybody!)
would Hit the ball!!!
In fact, her favorites were the "Fly Balls!" Yikes!
One never knew where those would go!
A big Thanks goes out
to Judy Inman and her husband, Big D, for
making this a memorable First Time Experience for the Dollmaker!

So yes, while April is typically an "Outside the Box" Month
it seems more so than usual this year...
Be alert for The Totally Unexpected!!
now then-
playing around with an idea...
In appreciation of all the Good Guys out there...

The Idea started out as Pins
Badges, if you will...
but then
when the Dollmaker was building little Stand-up Signs,
the Good Guys became Stand-up Good Guys!

Lynn and Tricia arrived, choosing Lady Pins

and, Hello Spring! ...firstly and lastly...
A flourishing April Garden
is a great and often meditative Joy!

Have a jolly Spring!
