Opening Weekend at the
Texas Renaissance Festival
Now that's the Wee Peeple Spirit!
These funny ladies opened the festivities by coming to the faire dressed as
Wee Peeple Dolls!
Yay! Let the FUN begin!
*****************************
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Hair Flowers!
Last month the Dollmaker only had a hat to use as a model
for the Hair Flowers.
Live models are ever so much more FUN!
Very dressy, without being heavy....
...and festive in all lengths of hair.
However...
The Pink ones do look best in Pink hair! Of course!
*****************************
Now Hear Ye!
The prayers we FERVENTLY uttered during the drought have been
FULLY ANSWERED!
It can stop raining now!

The Show Goes ON! Rain or Shine!
TRF 2009
Horned Shaman Dolls
are back

And NOW, Introducing...
our new Shoppe Helper:
Shandi
Shandi has been a big fan of the Wee Peeple Dolls for many years.
She has also been a contributor to this newsletter... her story
(acclaimed by Wee Peeple newsletter readers)
was published in the February 2009 Issue
of the Wee Peeple Newsletter...
And the article called
Shandi and the Magical Art Horses
which was about her, appeared in the April 2008 Issue
Shandi makes literally everything- her clothes, her bag, her jewelry, hat, boxes, dragons, pendants, horses...
Remember, she gave the Dollmaker this painted box last year... that was in the
November 2008 Issue of the Wee Peeple Newsletter
A real talent! And a hearty welcome to Shandi!
Great to have you onboard!

.......................................
And another Introduction....
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Kat's Baby
(remember last time, Kat had gotten married and then we saw her pregnant at Scarborough Faire... well...)
Parade Walker Kat had a bouncing baby boy!
And if you thought Kat was creative before, you should see the imaginative ways she decorates a baby carraige!
Who has more costumes... the baby or the Mom?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Speaking of Babies....
Second Weekend at the
Texas Renaissance Festival
was Fairy Weekend
(ok, they call it "1001 Dreams" or something,
but most people just call it Fairy Weekend)
During this one time of year, the human Festivities attract an astonishing variety of Faeries; a lifetime of work for a person like Darwin.
***********************************
Then...
Third Weekend at the
Texas Renaissance Festival
was Pirate Weekend... aaaaargh.
The "Ghost Hat"
Yes, a strange new "Pirate look" for the Dollmaker...
ok, what is it about Pirate Garb?
You can practically WATCH the mischief
bubbling up from deep within....
A LOT of people dressing like Pirates these days...
A Pirate Doll prepares for a journey
Avast, ye blaggards, make way for a gentleman!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The Bead Head Dolls Are getting some good Rides!
Can you find the BeadHead Doll
in this picture?
A jolly traveler in possession of a magic hat (and a mug full to the brim) found a companion small enough to sit amongst the many decorative objects on his hat and prompt him with the lyrics to his roudy songs.
***************************
Remember what the Dormouse said!
Feed your head! Feed your head!
-White Rabbit by Grace Slick
Hey! The Dormouse didn't say that!
(...however, the BeadHead Doll sings it this way....)
(Bead your Head! Bead your Head!)
-new version
........................................
'But what did the Dormouse say?' one of the jury asked.
'That I can't remember,' said the Hatter.
- Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

=====================================
My own definition of Dada:
- by Irving Stettner
"An insane lyrical impulse to remain light and carefree,
always looking for something to wonder or marvel at,
or love, or laugh at,
but always remaining illogical and joyous in a world gone mad
with too much logic, seriousness,
science, newspapers, war, and destruction."

But you can read all about it in this article:
Disney is NOT buying the Faire

This Coming Weekend
October 31st- November 1st
The Theme is All Hallows Eve
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
yay! Finally! Witches!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
AND
A Whole new Line of Soft Sculptured Dolls
with smaller heads
(You-all seemed somewhat frightened by the Dollmaker turning to the hard and unfamiliar resin heads... The Soft-Sculptured Heads are your favorites; be assured that more than a few of you have told the Dollmaker this.)
Coincidentally, Soft Sculpture is also the Dollmaker's Favorite Style of Dollmaking, and these new smaller Wees are truly adorable.
(But we DO need a unique name for them... and not the Wee Wees!)
