To set out on this adventure From Houston:
Take I-10 West
At Columbus go
North on Hwy 71 (toward Austin)
(watch your signs. DO NOT take the exit for Business 71
which comes up before your actual exit to Austin)
(drive about 45 minutes)
Pay attention when you start seeing the Smithville exits
There are 4 Smithville exits
pass all of them
The last Smithville exit is for FM 153
continue straight on Hwy 71
for 4.7 more miles
get on the shoulder
just past Alum Creek Road
and roll past the sign with the curvy green arrow
we are the next driveway
on your right
(across the highway from the Duke's Stop)
a peach colored building is out front
From Dallas:
I-35 East, go South
take exit 304 (before Temple)
go left over the highway
you will be on 95 South
Go through small towns- Little River, Holland, Granger
then Taylor and Elgin to Bastrop
take a left on Hwy 71
go 5 miles (east)
see the Duke's Stop convenience store at right
We are the Wee Peeple Doll Gallery on the left
you must go past it to the next exit
and double back on the shoulder
we are in the Peach colored house right past
the property with the curvy green arrow.
From San Antonio:
Take I-35 North
Exit San Marcos
use the exit for Hwy 80 and go east on Hwy 80
go to 21 East
take a left onto 21
go to Hwy 71
take a right onto Hwy 71
go past Bastrop on the overpass
to the traffic light at 71 and 95
go straight for 5.4 more miles
see the Duke's Stop convenience store at right

you must go past it to next exit
and double back on the shoulder

Take Hwy 71 South to Bastrop
go past Bastrop on the overpass
